developmental stages

site
house4 towards house 3-the final destination

the southern side of house 2, prism wedge to refract light into the lower bedroom area

House 2, entry splitting between living and lower bedroom, very closed building

the basement area of house four, delightful entry with many paths from which to come. mix of rammed earth walls, timber and earth

The pit as the earth falls away from beneathe your feet at entry into house 3 reflecting on where you have come from. The lower area has a wading pool, glass wall with water running over it to mirror the occupant.

Looking toward house 1, the corkscrew. Climbing out of the earth bumping it's heels and dragging the topography with it.

things in life are not always what you expect...

m y s t e r y p l a y . . . . .

conceptual urban sketches using the fractured four square grid then photoshopped to give more contrast to areas with better negative space. Initially using a four square grid, divided randomly into triangles, squares and rectangles, then quickly coloured in using trace overlay. The result is quite fascinating because the grid can still be seen in parts where the line of sight connects forms within the 2D image.
The first is the original showing clustering of elements used in the equus assignment, the second a cropped area with great negative space movement and voiding throughout, the third(my favourite) which can show movement between the elements, good example of density and negative space.
